ART FOR GROWTH
Each month, Finnart organizes a wide range of both regular & individualized visual arts programs for our Kevään Nuput, Kesän Kukat, Syksyn Kävyt, & Talven Marjat regular program students. We offer three contrasting routes towards visual arts making; one made for growth, one made for leisure, & one made for specialization.
The variation of our available programs for ‘Art For Growth’ varies every month, usually based on an artistic technical or creative ability, the months’ public holiday/season, or artistic inspiration. In the ‘Art For Growth’ program, we encourage our students to inquire, play, combine & experiment with a mixture of different mediums, techniques, & artistic styles. This provides our students with an exposure towards a vast variety of art making, bringing them up to par with the forever moving contemporary art scene. Whether the mediums be dry or wet, 2D or 3D, we guarantee that our students will develop themselves into confident, knowledgeable, & talented artists at the programs end!
WHAT IS ART FOR GROWTH?
Our‘Art For Growth’ program has a strong lesson plan every month consisting of various technical activities, which ensure a fuller understanding from our students as they apply these activities to their art making. Each month, our ‘Art For Growth’ program focuses on one of these principles of art creation: 1. Technique, 2. Creativity, 3. Artist Mimicry. By focusing on one of these fundamentals of art, our students learn through their exploration of mixed media techniques, mediums, contemporary, & historical art styles. Hence, our goal is to ensure that our students are able to expand their cognitive, psychomotor, & affective ability. Not only that, our programs & teaching methods are tailored to nurture each students strengths, weaknesses, likes, & dislikes. This ensures a more rewarding, fun, & innovative learning experience for both our students & teachers! We encourage our students to attempt artworks of varying mediums & styles, as this strengthens their knowledge, abilities, & confidence in their craft!
creatiVE INTELLECT
Students will be encouraged to grow their affective skills by creating an artwork centered on a given theme or a topic they are passionate about. Students are encouraged to incorporate at least two mediums in a specific artwork, which is a technique more prevalent in the contemporary art world.
MEDIUM TECHNIQUE
Students will apply a technical skill they have learned & practiced through various art activities in the program towards a physical artwork.
ARTIST MIMICry
Students will mimic the style or technique of a given contemporary or historical artist in an artwork. Students will learn about the artist & their technique during the program, after which they can modify an artwork chosen by that artist to accommodate their own creative intellect.
